Over two decades, it has stood out for its commitment to the diversity and quality of its artistic proposals, attracting more than 100,000 visitors in its last five editions.

Emerging and established artists, both national and international, gather at Art Madrid to reinvent the cultural landscape in one of the essential events of the upcoming Art Week.

Around forty national and international galleries will participate in the fair, showcasing—as is customary each year—current artistic trends and reaffirming their commitment to freshness and innovation.

The Galería de Cristal of Palacio de Cibeles will host the fair, offering a unique environment that enriches the experience of enjoying contemporary art. With its privileged location and excellent transport links, this space transforms during the event days into a meeting point for galleries, collectors, artists, and art lovers from all over the world.

In this 20th edition, Art Madrid reinforces its mission to promote the art market and collecting both nationally and internationally, while fostering cultural dialogue and accessibility. The fair maintains its approachable spirit and commitment to culture, presenting itself as an inclusive platform for all audiences to explore the latest trends in contemporary art.

Statement Booth A23 DDR Art Gallery.

Art is a creative and aesthetic expression that seeks to communicate ideas, emotions, and concepts through various forms and media. It is a human manifestation that has existed since ancient times and has developed in different cultures around the world.

It encompasses a wide variety of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, and photography. Each of these has its own techniques, styles, and traditions, but all share the pursuit of artistic expression and communication. We can appreciate art for its aesthetic beauty, but it can also have a deeper purpose, whether to provoke reflection, convey a political or social message, capture the essence of a human experience, or simply entertain. Throughout time, art has been an important way to record the culture, history, and ideas of a society. The presence and absence of the human being in contemporary art is a broad and complex theme that has been explored in various ways by artists throughout history. In the contemporary era, the relationship between human beings and art has constantly evolved and become increasingly diverse.

In some cases, the artist has focused on the representation and exploration of the human being in their work. This can manifest through portraits, sculptures, installations, or performances that focus on the human figure and the expression of human experience. These works often seek to explore identity, psychology, emotions, and human relationships. On the other hand, there is also a tendency in contemporary art to move away from the literal representation of the human being.

Some artists have chosen to explore abstract, conceptual, or even political themes, and in these cases, the human figure may be physically absent from the work. Instead of showing the direct presence of the human being, the artist may use symbols, metaphors, or indirect representations to address issues related to the human condition. Furthermore, with technological advances and the advent of new forms of digital art, new possibilities have been created for the representation and exploration of the human being.

Virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other technologies have allowed artists to experiment with the relationship between humans and technology, raising questions about identity, virtuality, and human interaction. In summary, the presence and absence of the human being in art is a complex and diverse topic that always invites reflection from the viewer.
