“Unseen XVIII” is a drawing made in graphite, pastel chalk, acrylic and piano wire on canvas, glued onto wood.
Another piece that makes up that series in which I revisit the theme of the portrait.
In this piece, the identity of the person serving as the reference doesn't matter; I erase or cross out the image. Only part of the face remains visible; no further information is needed; I leave room for speculation.
A steel thread floats over the portrait, creating a kind of division that emphasizes the symmetry implicit in the face. A line also intended to connect mind and heart. A metallic line whose shiny appearance contrasts with the opaque surface of the image it coexists with, and which, in turn, recalls the importance of drawing in my work.
