Title: “Oblatio”. (The offering)
Sculpture made of resin and stainless steel rods.
The piece is part of an investigation that revolves around the human being, in which concepts such as body expression, relationship with others, selfhood and otherness are present.
Two life-size bodies appear facing each other, displaying a sort of dialogue, represented through the accumulation of steel rods as a metaphor for thoughts. The rods are anchored to the heads of both bodies, establishing a mental bridge between the two figures. Some rods fall into the void, representing those thoughts discarded for their lack of importance.
In "Oblatio," I refer to that everyday situation that occurs in interpersonal relationships: the exchange of information (voluntary or not) that can occur when establishing a dialogue with others. Implicit in this exchange is an offering, something that is given to the other through one's own knowledge.
