“Corpus tuum domo sua XII” (The body is your own house XII) is an oil on canvas drawing, part of a series in which Roger Sanguino studies the theme of the body.
The body is seen as a metaphor for the home, as our main refuge, from which we look toward classical sculpture as a reference and starting point.
The image is achieved through a series of strokes and lines, expressively treating the material, starting from a concrete representation of the form, which gradually breaks down, generating indefinite boundaries. It's a piece with a result halfway between the figurative and the abstract.
