“Corpus tuum domo sua XI” (The body is your own house XI) is an oil painting on paper, part of a series in which Roger Sanguino studies the theme of the body.
The body is seen as a metaphor for the home, as our main refuge, from which we look toward classical sculpture as a reference and starting point.
This piece creates a crossroads, where two types of drawings coexist on the same surface. One determines the previously created form, and the other floats above it, through an intervention of controlled steel cords anchored to the board, giving rise to a three-dimensional drawing that allows for the incorporation of emptiness as an added value.
