“Corpus tuum domo sua X”. (The body is your own house X) is a drawing made in oil on paper, which is part of a series in which Roger Sanguino makes a study on the theme of the body.
The body is seen as a metaphor for the home, as our main refuge, from which we look toward classical sculpture as a reference and starting point.
This piece creates a crossroads, where two types of drawings coexist on the same surface. One determines the previously created form, and the other floats above it, through an intervention of controlled steel cords anchored to the board, giving rise to a three-dimensional drawing that allows for the incorporation of emptiness as an added value.
