"Koi" is a series born from observing the life that moves within silence. The "Koi" series originates from a childhood memory of the artist: her father used to be mesmerized watching his aquarium, and she, in turn, observed the calm and serenity that those fish conveyed to him. Years later, during a trip, this memory was reactivated upon finding a pond.
Observing the koi fish, gliding through murky waters, creates a hypnotic dance of light and shadow, reminding us that even in the darkest places there is movement, life, and hope. The artist captures in her canvases those fleeting moments where light emerges from the gloom, evoking the healing power of nature and the resurgence found in the invisible.
In Japanese culture, koi symbolize healing, transformation, and renewal, qualities that permeate each of these works. With fluid brushstrokes, Rinat Izhak translates that essence, offering the viewer a contemplative experience that inspires calm and resilience, also perfect for environments dedicated to well-being and healing.
Solo exhibition "Canto de los Pájaros" (Song of the Birds) at the 33rd Las Palmillas Art Exhibition, where the artist was honored (2024).
