With the body as an anchor, my most recent work is part of a research project centered around the human being, in which I explore themes such as the mind, body language, the individual and the universal, the relationship with others, geometry, time, and portraiture—concepts that I complement with formal aspects such as the importance of drawing, which shapes the structure of my work.
"Effigies IV" is a portrait where the subject's identity isn't important, but what's going on in their mind is. An orbit of lines surrounds or envelops the subject as a metaphor for the thoughts that constantly assault them. It's a thinking head, a representation of a particular, universal situation.
