Maria Santiso

BIO & STATEMENT

In the work of Mesantiso (Madrid, Spain), the traces of graphite, the tension of a tangled black thread and the texture of the lithographic pencil make thoughts visible.

Art is her outlet for organizing everything that stirs inside her. The female body is the guiding thread, and the absence of deterrents like backdrops or merely decorative elements creates an identity, as she seeks to focus on what she wants to capture without distractions.

Mesantiso's artwork is an intimate work that seeks to provoke reflection through its depiction and its titles, inviting viewers to delve into the threads and lines to discover what lies hidden beyond a first viewing.
