José A. Vallejo
[ BIO - STATEMENT - ARTIST CV ]
BIO.
José Antonio Vallejo Serrano was born in Madrid in 1984 and graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University in 2008.
Since 2007, he has been developing a research project titled "My Favorite Toy," a project of indeterminate duration that grows through his experiences, duly filtered and presented with a strong narrative character.
With the completion of the Master's in Art, Creation, and Research in 2010, he reinforced the discourse of this kind of intimate diary materialized in graphic pieces (drawing and engraving), sculptural pieces (stereolithographs from 3D scans of his own body), installations of everyday objects, and even performance art.
Statement.
A puppet or a teddy bear that tells us a personal story through phrases common to all, aiming to connect the everyday with the transcendent, thus creating a process that goes from the personal to the universal.
He currently combines his teaching work in drawing and painting at cultural centers of the Madrid city council with his artistic activity.
