BIO.
Armando de la Garza was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, in 1973. He began his painting studies at a very young age, but it wasn't until 1995, after completing his architecture degree, that he began his professional career in the art world.
Statement.
He has exhibited in over 40 group exhibitions in the USA, France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. He has had more than 25 solo exhibitions, including “Wherever this may be found” at Ginocchio Gallery in Mexico City, “Once upon a time” at the Center of Arts in Monterrey, “ID” at Emma Molina Gallery, San Pedro Garza Gcía., “The Misfortunes of Virtue” at Oblyon Gallery, Barcelona, Spain, “Horror Vacui” at Isabel Croxatto Gallery, Santiago de Chile, “Court Portraits” at Alternativa Once Gallery, or “Biotá” at Area Creativa 42 in Rivarolo, Italy, among others. He has received various awards such as the acquisition prize at the XVIII Review of Nuevoleonesa Plastic Arts and first place in the first biennial of the German Cultural Center, as well as selections at the IX FEMSA Biennial and in different editions of the Review of Nuevoleonesa Plastic Arts, and the National Young Art Encounter, among others.
