The multidisciplinary artist Roberto Lopez Martín presents Etopeyas in the form of a serial work and a book at Swinton & Grant on
June 17, 2022. We will have the editor of the book Sergio Mas and Ricardo Recuero who will introduce us to
the work. We will be joined by Óscar García García ,
Sara Torres Sifón , Elvira Rilova and Mª Victoria Arribas .

Roberto López reflects on this in his book-object " Etopeyas." A very personal photo-collage diary he has been working on over the years, compiling his work from 2012 to the present.
Roberto López Martín talks to us about the construction of identity through photographic portraits of the people who have passed through his life, through collage and drawing, creating by composing and decomposing images again and again, as he explains:
" Nowadays, the portrait or self-portrait has been subordinated to networks, interfering in the way we self-determine an image of ourselves. We pretend to be things we are not, and we let ourselves be influenced by people we meet through networks, degenerating
our own identity, dripping it away and letting others decide what we are."
Through these portraits that impact us time and again from their pages, accompanied by the various texts of personalities from the art world, curators or
critics such as Ricardo Recuero, Sara Torres Sifon, Francisco Garcia Ramos, Oscar Garcia Garcia, Maria Victoria Arribas and
Elvira Rilova, we delve into the literary figure of the ethopoeia that
The author uses it as a starting point to talk about that change in moral traits, character and virtues that modify us, producing that transformation in us through others.
As the author says:
" Etopeyas speaks to us of the mirror, that element in which we look at ourselves throughout our history, that historical novel that we should all have to remain in time, a mixture of the everyday that builds our being, enhancing our narcissism."
Therefore, Etopeyas is the autobiography of a journey in which we are all immersed, in one way or another, in which our backpack is filled with personalities with whom we interact on social networks or with family and friends who pass by along our life's journey.
That is where the key to this book lies.
