Art Madrid Contemporary Art Fair 2024.
Art Madrid Contemporary Art Fair 2024.
Stand/Booth B8.
At DDR Art Gallery, we approach contemporary art through contact between the collector and the artist, with our gallery as a unifying and managing element, combining attendance at Contemporary Art Fairs with online sales at national and international level, with a
speech of analysis and criticism of the reality of the present time.
From this perspective, our proposal for Art Madrid 2023 is based on the dialogue between our artists' physical works and NFTs, and their interaction with form and space as the backbone of the proposal: ephemeral works confronting works that remain in cyberspace.
Art is a creative and aesthetic expression that seeks to communicate ideas, emotions, and concepts through various forms and media. It is a human manifestation that has existed since ancient times and has developed in different cultures around the world.
It covers a wide variety of disciplines, including painting, sculpture and photography.
Each of these has its own techniques, styles, and traditions, but they all share the pursuit of artistic expression and communication.
We can appreciate art for its aesthetic beauty, but it can also serve a deeper purpose, whether it is to provoke reflection, convey a political or social message, capture the essence of a human experience, or simply entertain.
Throughout time, art has been an important way of recording a society's culture, history, and ideas.
The presence and absence of human beings in contemporary art is a broad and complex theme that has been explored in various ways by artists throughout history. In the contemporary era, the relationship between human beings and art has constantly evolved and become increasingly diverse.
In some cases, the artist has focused his attention on the representation and exploration of the human being in his work. This can be expressed through portraits, sculptures, installations, or performances that focus on the human figure and the expression of the human experience. These works often seek to explore identity, psychology, emotions, and human relationships.
On the other hand, there is also a tendency in contemporary art to move away from literal representations of human beings. Some artists have chosen to explore abstract, conceptual, or even political themes, and in these cases, the human figure may be physically absent from the work. Instead of showing the direct presence of human beings, the artist may use symbols, metaphors, or indirect representations to address issues related to the human condition.
Furthermore, with technological advances and the advent of new forms of digital art, new possibilities have been created for the representation and exploration of human beings. Virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other technologies have allowed artists to experiment with the relationship between humans and technology, raising questions about identity, virtuality, and human interaction.
In short, the presence and absence of human beings in art is a complex and diverse subject that always invites reflection in those who observe it.

“Tutta effigies XVII and XVIII” (Portrait protected XVII and XVIII) are two works made in graphite, pastel chalk, acrylic and piano wire on canvas, glued on wood.
Each piece makes up that series in which I review the theme of the portrait.
In these pieces, the identity of the person serving as the reference doesn't matter; I erase or cross out the image. Only part of the face remains visible; no further information is needed; I leave room for speculation.
A steel thread floats over the portrait, creating a kind of division that emphasizes the symmetry implicit in the face. A line also intended to connect mind and heart. A metallic line whose shiny appearance contrasts with the opaque surface of the image it coexists with, and which, in turn, recalls the importance of drawing in my work.
