"Just as artistic expressions are a universal impulse, they have always required a reserved or shared space, FAC embraces both, merging the private with the public for a day, for a few hours. It's a way of positioning artists in their rightful place, but one that seems to have been forgotten: at the forefront and in direct contact with the public."
A vindication of self-management, of decision-making, of fair remuneration for personal effort. A resounding and clear assertion that those who create art work, that it is not a game but a spiritual struggle: playful or intense.
Neither institutional nor private, but a domestic environment that is enhanced by the power of the direct intervention of art. A relaxed atmosphere that invites conversation, participation, in a friendly setting. We desire and offer an uncensored environment. Where the visual word constitutes an open syntax and all languages are welcome.
This is how the 4th edition of the ART FAIR AT HOME is presented. FAC . A temporary fair organized by David Heras Verde, Sara Zambrana, GAPS Curatorial with Belinda Martín, Idoia Hormaza and Catalina de Vicente, which will take place on May 26th throughout the different floors of the residence-studio of the artist David Heras Verde.
Its main objective? To bring art closer to all audiences and return to the way fairs were in the mid- and late 19th century, when artists gathered and presented their works in private spaces in a more intimate way, interacting directly with the public.
Participating in this 4th edition are:
Roberto López Martin , Annita Klimt , Evangelina Esparza and David Heras , representing DDR ARt Gallery.
It also features the presence of Off the Chart with José Luis López, Patricia Mateo, Montserrat Gómez Osuna, Alberto Olé, Le Frère, Inma Fierro, Solimán López, Irene Cruz, Rebecca Uliczka, Movesinmover, Rosa Muñoz, Sebas Beyro, Yolanda García, Raquel Lorente and Javier Rodriguez Lozano.
Projects:
“In money we trust” by Adonay Bermúdez, Eugenio Merino, Juan Francisco Casas, and David Heras. A project with a traveling vocation in which each artist works on the same medium, an American dollar, and which accommodates all artistic expressions. A project with a reinterpretation of the most recognizable capitalist icon, the dollar, a project critical of capitalist society and the art market. The dollar bill as a medium is an ideal raw material for art; it is recognizable and charged with symbolism, surely as seductive as it is abhorred.
OR , curated by GAPSCuratorial and Belinda Martín. A project born between London, Madrid, Rome, and Tehran, it includes international curatorial and artistic voices. Considering each page as a space and an opportunity for intervention, Or is based on a proposal of emptiness, of lack, as an interrupter of action. Escaping the categories of artist's book and exhibition, Or is a horizontal space that incorporates the ephemeral and the transitory from multiple artistic disciplines and angles. The project takes its name from the logical disjunction also known as alternation, and operates precisely by establishing inclusive disjunctions.
CHOOSE YOUR FLAVOR , curated by Idoia Hormaza. Political actions reach a real and immediate dimension in the collective and intimate life of each individual. Artistic manifestations are not immune to these discourses and are forcibly inserted into functions, devices, and evaluation criteria that link the understanding of art solely as a classification.
Using audiovisual and performative language, artists subjectively denounce the attempts to confine the artistic, social, political, and economic realms that are sold to us as options. Expression, freedom, and reality are not found in the choice of flavor.
NOT FOR THE LOVE OF ART . A project by PAC Contemporary Art Platform, in collaboration with Swinton & Grant. The project was created to recognize and support the work of artists. It is a social initiative to support the work of visual artists, photographers, actors, writers, illustrators, designers, and so on. Many art and culture professionals lack the professional and financial support they should have, as in any other sector. And they often have to work for the love of art.
Duckout , BEIS , and SUBLIME magazines will also have a space at the fair, as well as various panel discussions and presentations.
An event now in its fourth edition, in a unique format.
