Encounters with Beauty is a form of archaeology, the archaeology of Annita Klimt's life.

An encounter with everything that reconciles her with humanity, with those people who are capable of creating, escaping horror, and offering something beautiful, with words, with images, with color or the absence of it. And nature, which, absent from the life of an urbanite, continues to appear in her dreams as the only truth.

From the inspiration that comes from the starkness of words in the poetry of Luís Rosales, to the fragmentation and rupture in the framing of the Nouvelle Vague or the almost microscopic detail in the search for the deepest in Rothko, or that need to encounter beauty in the most routine, habitual and close as captured by Jonas Mekas.

The exhibition is a selection of all the techniques I work with:
The classic collage of paper, scissors and glue with found vintage material, from the 1920s or 1930s onwards until the 1970s and 1980s.

Objects lost among the mountains end up forming time capsules or messages in a bottle.

And for the first time, she's showing video pieces. Annita Klimt studied filmmaking, but I never intended to belong to the dominant audiovisual language. Here's a small sample of what the moving image offers her, through appropriation and poetic feeling.

Annita Klimt presents an intimate exhibition, with a glass full of pain and injustice, but with poetry and introspection overflowing.

Essential.
